Model Portfolio Guide

Keeping your model portfolio up to date with fresh, high-quality images is essential for maintaining a competitive edge in the modeling industry. Whether you're using professional or non-professional images, creating an eye-catching portfolio is crucial to your success in the modeling industry. Follow these steps to ensure your portfolio stands out:

Use Natural Light: Natural light provides a soft and flattering illumination for children’s portraits. Shoot during the golden hours (early morning or late afternoon) for the best lighting.

Keep It Simple: Use plain or subtly textured backgrounds to keep the focus on the model. Choose simple, age-appropriate outfits without logos or busy patterns.

Capture a Range of Expressions: Encourage your child to show different expressions, from happy and playful to serious and contemplative. Interact with your child to elicit genuine emotions and expressions.

Ensure Comfort and Safety: Make sure your child is comfortable and feels safe during the shoot. Keep sessions short to maintain their energy and enthusiasm.

Focus on Eyes and Face: Capture close-up shots that highlight your child’s eyes and facial features. Ensuring your child looks at the camera or interacts naturally within the scene.

Include Full-Body Shots: Include a mix of close-ups, mid-shots, and full-body shots to show your child’s proportions and versatility. Encourage natural, relaxed poses that reflect your child’s personality.

Model Portfolio Guide: Portfolio Updates

Keeping your baby or child's online portfolio updated is crucial to ensure they remain competitive and appealing in the modeling industry.

Here are the key reasons why regular updates are essential:

1. Reflects Growth and Development

Physical Changes: Babies and children grow and change rapidly. Regular updates capture their current look, making sure the portfolio accurately represents them.

Milestones: New photos can highlight developmental milestones and new skills (e.g., walking, new expressions) that might be relevant for specific modeling opportunities.

2. Maintains Relevance

Current Trends: Keeping the portfolio updated ensures it aligns with current industry trends and seasonal fashion.

Fresh Content: Clients and casting directors are more likely to engage with portfolios that feature recent and fresh content.

3. Showcases Versatility and Range

Variety: Regular updates provide a range of images that show your child’s versatility in different looks, styles, and settings.

New Experiences: As your child gains more experience, new photos can highlight their growing range of modeling abilities.

4. Enhances Professionalism

Commitment: An up-to-date portfolio demonstrates a professional commitment to your child’s modeling career.

Seriousness: It shows clients and casting directors that your child’s representation is serious about maintaining a current and polished presentation.

UPDATE GUIDE

As a guide, we suggest the following updates.

0–6-month-old babies – every one to two months

6–12-month-old babies – every two to three months

1–3-year-old toddlers – every three to five months

3–5-year-old child – every six months

5–15-year-old child – every six to twelve months

Updates can consist of just one image. You do not need to update the entire portfolio.

Once your portfolio is active with at least 10 images, clients can view it, and we can start finding work for your child.

Work searches are conducted in multiple ways.

Via our website – Where clients search for models by age, location, eye colour, hair colour etc.

Via the agency – Where we receive a brief from a client and provide them with your portfolio and images.

Via the portfolio – Where jobs are posted in the “find a job” section of your portfolio.

Via email – Where we email you a job and you respond with the information requested.

You will see jobs added to the website periodically. These postings represent a small number of the assignments we receive from clients. You can apply for these jobs if they match your child’s profile or circumstances. Many assignments involve other family members, such as mothers, fathers, siblings, or even grandparents. Some posted jobs will specify certain looks or measurements that we couldn’t find through our platform.

To apply for a job post, simply select 'View Details', then choose 'Apply', then 'Apply to this Job'
